 As a homemaker and mother of three daughters, and now grandmother of one granddaughter, themes of domesticity and familial relationships are central to my photography. My daughter once commented that I observe rather than participate. The camera legitimizes that tendency, allowing me to detach and make pictures that have nothing to do with my emotional tie to the subject. Rather than a recorded moment, the objective is to situate my family within a broader context of the domestic sphere in a way that will be universally understood by the viewer. |
